WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO PURCHASE? AMMUNITION AND MORE

Ammunition
Grain weight does not matter for the purposes you are using the firearm for (not for competition). Please use this link to purchase ammunition. Ammo is most economical when purchased in bulk (500-1000 rounds at a time). You should get a small amount of hollow point ammunition, and the rest (bulk) should be labeled as “FMJ” or .”TMJ.” This type of ammunition is used for practice/range and is much cheaper than hollow points, which are used for self defense. You will be required to provide your FOID card. Ammo can be shipped to your house.
Weapon Mounted Light
If your firearm is equipped with a rail underneath the barrel, a weapon mounted light is a flashlight attached to your firearm. It allows you to have proper grip, and not have to hold a flashlight in your support hand, during low light conditions (that bump in the night). There are a ton of options. Look up “Streamlight TLR.”

Our classes are designed for a beginner shooter. At a minimum, for concealed carry training, you will need to bring:
- A pullover garment (i.e., a sweatshirt)
- An open front garment (i.e., a jacket)
- Paper and Pen to take notes
- A positive attitude
- If you own the following, please bring it to the class:
- A firearm
- A holster for the firearm
You do not need to own a firearm or holster to take the class. If you do not have one, we recommend coming to class without the equipment, learning, and then make a purchase after you receive all of the information. Ammunition is not included in pricing.
