The 4 hour Concealed Carry Renewal Certification course, required every five years, for current Illinois license holders. It covers the refresher on Illinois law, safe handling and the defensive mindset, plus your live fire qualification. Many renewal students cannot remember who certified them the first time. First Shots: A Beginner's Handgun Experience. Curious about handguns but unsure where to begin? This welcoming, beginner-friendly class helps you feel safe, comfortable and confident while learning alongside family, friends, a partner or your child. You will learn essential handgun safety, how semi-automatic pistols and revolvers operate, and what to expect at the range. Then, with instructor guidance, you go out on the range and shoot both a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a .22 caliber revolver. No previous firearm experience is necessary.
